Senior Product Lead

Job Description
What's the Opportunity?
RBC Insurance is modernizing how clients and partners receive communications. We're hiring a Senior Product Lead to drive the strategy and execution for enterprise-wide communications and document delivery. You'll define the vision and roadmap for unified communications, ensuring solutions are scalable, desirable, privacy-compliant, and integrated across every channel. This role blends experience innovation with technical execution. You'll shape the strategic vision for how communications are designed, delivered, and experienced, while also overseeing squads to execute against the roadmap. Success means delivering communications that are consistent, trusted, and client-centric and ensuring the platforms that enable them are resilient, modern, and scalable. You'll partner closely with engineering, architecture, product, strategy, design, marketing, and vendors to shape the next generation of the RBC Insurance communications ecosystem.
What will you do?
Define and own the product vision and roadmap for communications — ensuring every message and document is unified, consistent, and trusted across channels
Develop a deep understanding of RBC Insurance's technical architecture and system landscape, ensuring communications strategy accounts for all platforms, integrations, and dependencies
Partner with design strategists, designers, and marketing teams to reimagine how communications are experienced by clients, advisors, MGAs, and partners, blending compliance with simplicity and clarity.
Translate strategic vision into technical execution: orchestration engines, APIs, identity/consent systems, and cloud delivery platforms
Lead one or more cross-functional squads to execute against the roadmap — ensuring delivery is iterative, measurable, and aligned to business outcomes
Shape the future of document management — metadata-rich inventories, standardized templates, and compliant archival to improve auditability and efficiency
Engage in continuous discovery with research and testing to improve communications strategy and implementation
Govern consent and preferences, integrating opt-in/opt-out logic and data residency compliance to protect client choice and reduce regulatory risk
Collaborate with analytics teams to deliver dashboards and optimization loops, ensuring communications are continuously improving in effectiveness and customer experience
Partner with vendors and suppliers to evaluate solutions, negotiate capabilities, and ensure platform choices align with long-term strategy
Represent the communications domain in enterprise governance and transformation forums — securing alignment, investment, and prioritization across the organization
Occasional travel to the RBC Insurance Mississauga office may be required
What You Need to Succeed?
Must Haves
10+ years in product management and digital strategy, with a track record of delivering complex, client-centric, enterprise-scale solutions in regulated industries
Demonstrated ability to embed end-user perspective into every stage of product vision and execution
Strong technical fluency: understanding of APIs, event-based architecture, orchestration platforms, identity/consent frameworks, document systems, and how these interact within complex enterprise architectures
Proven success defining vision and leading squads to deliver roadmaps in multi-channel environments (email, portals, in-app, SMS, physical mail)
Experience shaping product and technology strategy in partnership with engineering, architecture, product, design, and vendor partners
Deep familiarity with communications platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, document management systems)
Systems thinking. Able to connect client experience, compliance, and technology into a cohesive, enterprise-wide communications strategy
Strong storytelling and facilitation skills: able to bring user insights and strategy to life for executives and delivery teams alike
Nice to Haves
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD practices
Familiarity with enterprise analytics tools (Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI, Amplitude)
Experience with Salesforce ecosystems (Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud)
Conceptual knowledge of event-driven or microservice architectures
Certifications in product management or Agile leadership
What's in it for you?
Lead a mission-critical product domain that touches every audience RBC Insurance serves
Drive both experience innovation and technical execution, with squads dedicated to bringing your roadmap to life
Influence how millions of Canadians experience communications from their insurer
Work alongside senior leaders in product, design, engineering, and the business, with visibility across the enterprise
A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including performance bonuses, flexible benefits, pension, and employee share ownership
A collaborative, inclusive, and hybrid work environment that values both impact and balance
Sophisticated RBCI software tools to boost your productivity

RBC respects and responds to the many competing and evolving priorities in our lives – so you can focus on what you can do best – putting clients first.
