Position Summary

Pass Powderkeg is hiring Groomer Operators that will report to the Manager of Pass Powderkeg The Groomer Operator is a key team member in the operation of Pass Powderkeg. This role ensures the snow grooming equipment is operated safely and in accordance with company procedures and departmental training. This role works cooperatively with other staff and continually strives to provide our guests the finest recreational experience by providing safe and well-maintained terrain.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operates grooming equipment in a safe, productive manner to create safe slopes for guests to enjoy

  • Observe and adhere to all company safety, operating and maintenance procedures.

  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship and respect for machinery and safety.

  • Assist in terrain development

  • Perform pre-start-up inspections and visual checks as required by the operators manual and company policy.

  • Perform basic maintenance of snowcat as trained and requested

  • Fill out log books, maintenance requests as required by policy

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  • Knowledge of ski area operations
  • Knowledge of snowcats, grooming and snowmaking
  • Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Able to work alone or with others in a team environment
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Self-motivated, responsible and willing to learn

Required Education and Experience

  • Must have valid Class 5 license
  • Minimum - High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Experience operating a snowcat
  • First aid is an asset at Pass Powderkeg
