Shimco continues to grow and we are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer with strong experience in Mastercam to join in our Engineering department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam for milling and turning operations.
  • Develop efficient tool paths for 3-axis and 5-axis machining centers.
  • Select appropriate tools, speeds, and feeds to maximize productivity and ensure part quality.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T specifications.
  • Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and production leads to improve machining efficiency and reduce cycle times.
  • Verify programs using simulation and perform first-piece validation.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date program files, setup sheets, and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Mastercam (required).
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, materials, and tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and 3D CAD models.
  • Experience with aerospace or precision machining (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in a Canadian Controlled Goods workplace (minimum of no criminal record).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
