Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying joint compound, sanding, and finishing drywall surfaces to ensure a smooth and professional appearance. This role requires a strong understanding of construction painting, carpentry, and caulking techniques, with the ability follow detailed instructions. The Taper will work closely with other trades to deliver high-quality results on commercial projects. Prior experience is required, and a commitment to safety and quality is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Apply joint compound accurately to drywall seams, corners, and fasteners using trowels and other tools
  • Sand finished surfaces to achieve a smooth, even finish suitable for painting or wallpapering
  • Perform caulking around joints, trim, and fixtures to ensure proper sealing and finish quality
  • Collaborate with carpenters, painters, and other trades to coordinate project tasks
  • Maintain a clean work area by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
  • Follow safety protocols at all times during work operations

Skills

  • Proven experience in construction painting, drywall taping, or finishing preferred
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of caulking techniques and materials
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills and reliability in completing assigned tasks efficiently

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
