Position: Digital Marketing Assistant
Department: Digital Marketing Reporting to: Senior Manager, Social Media and Community Building
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid*)
Status: Permanent, Full-Time
Position Summary
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and digitally savvy Digital Marketing Assistant to support the execution of our marketing, social media, digital touchpoints, and community building efforts. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Social Media and Community Building, this role also provides significant support for backend e-commerce operations, content creation/management, product shipments, and coordination with PR and influencer partners.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and publishing content across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Monitor social media channels, engage with followers, and help nurture community relationships.
- Assist in creation of visual content (reels, stories, graphics to fulfill online retailer requests using Adobe programs) in collaboration with graphics team, videographer, Creative Director and Digital Marketing & Content Specialist.
- Create weekly SEO enhanced blogs
- Provide high-level backend support on Shopify, including product updates, page edits, and promotions.
- Help manage product shipments, including organizing internal orders, coordinating with fulfillment teams, and ensuring delivery timelines.
- Assist in coordinating timelines and communications with Brand/PR agency and influencers, including product gifting, launches, and campaign rollouts.
- Assist in sourcing, creating and managing content and timelines as well as working with content creators.
- Assist in email and sms marketing initiatives.
- Track social media and campaign performance metrics and contribute to regular reporting and insights.
- Maintain and update content calendars, ensuring all deadlines and brand messaging are aligned.
- Stay on top of digital trends, competitor activity, and influencer/content opportunities.
- Help organize and maintain digital asset libraries and marketing documentation.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–2 years of experience (including internships) in digital marketing, e-commerce, or social media.
- Working knowledge of/familiarity with all major Social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube).
- Familiarity with Shopify and backend e-commerce processes is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with email and sms marketing platforms considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of major social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite)
- Proficiency in Photoshop or similar design/editing tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Able to work with multiple moving parts and at a fast pace.
- Team player rather than a me player with a can-do attitude and ability to take initiative.
Nice to Have's
- Exposure to influencer marketing, community management, or PR coordination.
- Basic video editing or motion design skills.
- Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Insights).
- Familiarity using project management tools (Asana, , Trello, Notion).
- Understanding of DTC brands, retail marketing, and multi-channel campaigns.
- Basic understanding of SEO/SEM.
