The Investment Performance, Analytics and Reporting (IPAR) team provides insightful, accurate and timely investment performance analytics and attribution information for AIMCo's clients, Total AIMCo, including all pools, and individual strategies. The IPAR team is closely integrated with external and internal clients to better understand investment strategies and provide them with insights that bring them closer to their investment performance goals. The Reporting group within the IPAR team is responsible for all external client and consultant reporting, providing AIMCo's clients a comprehensive view of their investments.

As a Senior Advisor, focusing on Reporting on AIMCo's Investment.
Performance, Analytics & Reporting team, you, along with the rest of the team, will be responsible for gathering investment data and commentary from across the organization and producing monthly, quarterly, and adhoc client reports. You will also bring fresh ideas of reporting trends from the industry and be involved in continuous improvement of reporting content.Responsibilities:
  • Support the Senior Manager in successfully delivering Reporting team initiatives within the BTx program.
  • Generate and propose innovative ideas for reporting content and collaborate with internal stakeholders to bring these ideas to life.
  • Assist in developing timelines and processes to ensure deadlines and expectations are met.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of effective reporting and analysis to enhance interpretation of Investment, Risk, Accounting, Performance, and Attribution information.
  • Analyze and interpret large volumes of data from Investment, Risk, Accounting, Performance, and Attribution systems to create insightful reports that tell a clear story.
  • Stay informed on investment market trends and incorporate market insights into reporting and ad hoc analyses.
  • Maintain a high standard of accuracy and presentation quality in all reports and dashboards.
  • Develop a strong understanding of AIMCo's investment pools and benchmarks, and how they align with client asset mandates, to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Collect data and commentary from internal stakeholders to produce monthly and quarterly investment reports for clients, consultants, AIMCo Executives, and Board members.
  • Respond to client and consultant inquiries in a consultative and timely manner.
  • Fulfill ad hoc external client and consultant requests by collaborating with internal teams to gather accurate information.
  • Enhance quality control processes and reduce manual work through automation.
  • Lead the implementation of reporting and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in new projects related to Investment Performance, Analytics, and Reporting.
Success:  

Within your first three months, you will develop a strong understanding of AIMCo's investment pools, benchmarks, and client reporting structure with the support of your team. You will be able to independently produce and review accurate, error-free monthly and quarterly client reports and lead commentary writing for relevant sessions. You should have indepth investment performance and attribution knowledge to provide guidance to the team. In addition, you will identify and implement meaningful enhancements to report content and processes, improving clarity, efficiency, and overall client value.

Our Ideal Candidate:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field such as Mathematics or Computer Science with a finance component.
  • A minimum of 6+ years of experience in pension, investment management, or investment reporting is a strong asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of institutional investments, portfolio management, and pension/endowment financing is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and clearly articulate complex financial data.
  • Proven experience in developing high-quality, innovative client reporting materials.
  • The ability to thrive under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word is desirable.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and writing skills, with proven attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to translate investment data into meaningful and insightful client commentary.
  • Investment-related designations such as CFA, FRM, CIPM, or CAIA are strongly desirable.
  • Professional exposure to SQL querying is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience with SQL, Python, and Power BI tools are desirable.
