About Us

Kingsway Drafting & Design, part of Kingsway Builders, is a growing residential design group specializing in high-quality architectural drafting for single-family homes, townhouses, and small-scale developments. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Architectural Drafter to join our team on a contract basis, with the opportunity to move into a full-time role.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Calgary-based drafter who can independently produce complete Development Permit (DP) and Building Permit (BP) drawing packages for City of Calgary submission. Because projects may require site visits or in-person coordination, only Calgary-area candidates will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare full DP and BP drawing sets for residential projects
  • Draft floor plans, elevations, sections, site plans, and construction details
  • Ensure all drawings meet the City of Calgary zoning bylaws and building code requirements
  • Revise drawings based on city comments and client feedback
  • Attend local site visits or project meetings as needed
  • Manage your own drafting workflow and meet deadlines

Qualifications

  • Proven experience drafting single-family homes, townhouses, or similar residential projects
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit is required
  • Experience preparing permit-ready drawing packages
  • Familiarity with the Alberta Building Code and residential construction standards
  • Understanding of City of Calgary permitting processes is an asset
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must be based in Calgary, AB

Pay: $45,546.54-$84,774.26 per year
