Accountant - Fundraising and Grants
Volunteer Hours: 4–5 hours per week - Location: Remote/Hybrid (within Ontario preferred)
About
Active Leaders of Love (ALL) is an advocacy and community leadership organization dedicated to making Ontario more accessible — to resources, information, and opportunities. We partner with communities to identify priorities, respond to emerging challenges, and drive meaningful, lasting impact. Our work spans broad policy issues and local concerns, including mental health, digital literacy, safety, and accessibility.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role supporting fundraising and grant activities. The accountant will help set up financial systems, support grant applications, track funds, and ensure the organization is prepared to manage and report on donations and grants responsibly. This role reports to the CEO and collaborates closely with the CFO.
Key Responsibilities
- Support grant and fundraising efforts by preparing grant budgets and financial sections of applications
- Track restricted and unrestricted funds and support grant and donor reporting
- Assist with grant compliance, reporting, and funder readiness
- Set up and maintain financial tracking systems, including charts of accounts and reporting templates
- Help establish or recommend basic accounting and donor management tools suitable for a startup nonprofit
- Prepare simple financial summaries or dashboards for leadership and board review
What We're Looking For
- Experience with accounting, nonprofit finance, grants, or fund accounting
- Comfortable working in a startup nonprofit environment where systems are built from the ground up
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with leadership as needed
Time Commitment
Approximately 4–5 hours per week, with flexibility and occasional increases during grant cycles.
Why Join
This is an opportunity to help shape the financial foundation of a growing nonprofit, gain experience in grant and fundraising finance, and contribute meaningfully to an organization committed to community leadership and impact.
