Duties

  • Assist in supervising daily store operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and sales activities
  • Lead, motivate, and develop team members through effective training, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Manage employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, and onboarding processes to build a strong team
  • Oversee cash handling, cashiering, POS transactions, and ensure accurate bookkeeping and payroll processing
  • Support inventory control through purchasing, stock replenishment, pricing strategies, and shrink reduction initiatives
  • Ensure excellent customer service by addressing inquiries with professionalism and phone etiquette
  • Coordinate shift management to ensure proper staffing levels and smooth store flow during peak hours
  • Implement marketing strategies to promote products and increase sales within the store

Experience

  • Proven experience in retail sales management or assistant manager roles within a grocery or retail environment
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated success in supervising teams and managing daily store functions
  • Proficiency in retail math, budgeting, merchandising, inventory control, and POS systems
  • Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are highly desirable
  • Experience with recruiting, employee training & development, payroll administration, and cash handling procedures
  • Familiarity with wireless sales or grocery store operations is a plus but not required
  • Ability to manage time effectively while juggling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced setting
