An artist and performer based in Georgetown, Ontario, is seeking an experienced audio engineer for a debut album release. The project consists of 20-23 tracks blending electronic and recorded instruments, with a creative direction inspired by M83, Joy Division, and Eddie Vedder. The ideal candidate will bring a mature, balanced sound to the album, ensuring each track is professionally mixed and mastered to industry standards. This is a single-project opportunity with the potential for future collaboration. A hybrid working arrangement is preferred, with both remote and on-site availability as needed, and openness to travel. The goal is to complete the album within the current calendar year or sooner, depending on compatibility and workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Mix and master 20-23 album tracks, ensuring sonic consistency and professional quality across all songs
  • Collaborate closely with the artist to achieve a sound that blends electronic and live instrumentation, reflecting the specified influences
  • Utilize Mac and Studio One as primary tools for editing, mixing, and mastering
  • Provide creative input on arrangement, effects, and overall sonic direction as needed
  • Manage project timelines to ensure completion within the desired timeframe
  • Be available for both remote and on-site sessions in Georgetown, Ontario, with flexibility for travel if required

Skills And Requirements

  • Proven experience in audio engineering, specifically mixing and mastering full-length albums
  • Proficiency with Mac systems and Studio One software
  • Strong understanding of electronic and live instrument integration in music production
  • Ability to deliver a polished, mature sound in line with reference artists (M83, Joy Division, Eddie Vedder)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Availability for hybrid work (remote and on-site in Ontario) and willingness to travel as needed
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage large, multi-track projects within set deadlines
