Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating the transportation of goods, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining effective communication with drivers and clients. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in data entry, and familiarity with supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule shipments, ensuring optimal routing and timely delivery of freight.
- Communicate effectively with drivers to provide updates on schedules and any changes.
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipments and manage logistics operations.
- Analyze shipping data to improve efficiency and reduce costs within the supply chain.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, including data entry into SyteLine or similar software.
- Handle shipping and receiving tasks as needed, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when interacting with clients and vendors.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dispatching or a related field within the transportation industry.
- Strong understanding of shipping and receiving processes.
- Familiarity with SyteLine or other logistics management software is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Strong analytical skills to assess situations and make informed decisions quickly.
- Proficient in data entry with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Knowledge of supply chain principles and freight management is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
