Job Overview
MSALABS is an experienced global provider of geochemical laboratory services to the exploration and mining industries in Canada, the USA and around the world. We have a rapidly growing network of laboratories in key mining regions around the world to limit lead times and transit costs and we employ the latest hi-tech analysis equipment.
We are looking for a dedicated and detail orientated self-starter who has the following skills and experience:
Duties
- Review and update MSALABS' Safety Manual together with Global Safety Coordinators
- Ensure the customer HSE requirements are understood, implemented and maintained
- Conduct internal HSE audits and coordinate external HSE audits.
- Provide training and mentorship on HSE policies and promote a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and acts.
- Conduct internal HSE meetings and attend joint HSE meetings as required.
- Develop and monitor MSALABS' HSE training program.
- Coordinate fire extinguisher and worksite inspections.
- Conduct incident investigation and hazard assessments.
- Identify and implement methods for cost savings, and improved efficiency.
- Contribute to the development and/or implementation of new technology.
- Perform other duties as required by management.
Requirements
- Able to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Detail orientated and ability to work very well under pressure.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- BSc. or Technical Diploma; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 1-3 years' experience in an HSE role at role in a related field. General commercial laboratory experience will be considered.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
