Job Overview

Les Sushi HOK Inc. (Mito Sushi counter inside IGA grocery store) is looking for a reliable morning Sushi Prep Helper to support daily food preparation before store opening hours.

This role is not customer-facing and is focused on preparation, cooking, and ingredient setup to ensure the sushi counter is fully ready for the day.

This position is ideal for someone who prefers early hours, structured tasks, and consistent routine work.

Work Schedule

  • Hours: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
  • Days: 3–7 days per week (schedule can be discussed)
  • Minimum Working Hour: At least 12 hours per week
  • Pay: $18/hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Cook and prepare sushi rice (cooking, seasoning, warming)
  • Fry items such as: Dragon Eyes, Pizza Sushi, Maki Tempura
  • Prepare poke bowls
  • Prepare spring rolls (rouleaux printemps)
  • Cut and prepare ingredients for the same day and next day
  • Set up the sushi counter so the fridge is full and organized
  • Clean and sanitize work surfaces, tools, and equipment
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
  • Assist with basic organization of ingredients and supplies

Qualifications

  • Experience in a kitchen, restaurant, or food prep role is an asset
  • Experience with sushi prep is a plus but not required
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable with repetitive prep tasks
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings
  • Willingness to follow food safety procedures
  • Able to work independently once trained
