Position Description

Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Truro, NS

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of plant equipment and providing technical electrical support. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the reliability and optimal performance of plant equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the maintenance team during regular hours and be available for urgent issues after hours.
  • Develop and implement electrical maintenance procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to improve overall plant performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability.
  • Mentor engineers-in-training and apprentices in related fields.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in plant equipment maintenance and reliability.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including PLCs, motors, and control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in electrical engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software and tools.
