We are looking for a Technical Designer to join our team in Montreal

Permanent position, full time.

Responsibilities:

· Report to the Senior Designer and support all technical development processes for handbags, small leather goods, and accessories (key chains, luggage tags, etc.) from concept through production.

· Create, build, and maintain detailed tech packs including measurements, construction details, stitching, edge paint, hardware specifications, and other design details (including locks, D-rings, and embellishment components in various materials);

· Review proto, fit, and production samples for construction, functionality, quality, and workmanship, providing clear and actionable comments to overseas suppliers.

· Partner closely with Designers to help translate creative intent into production-ready products while maintaining brand standards and professional working relationships.

· Ensure accurate execution of materials, trims, hardware, and logos, identifying potential risks and proposing technical solutions when needed.

· Assist the Senior Designer in managing timelines, approvals, and sample revisions to ensure alignment with the sample delivery calendar.

· Support the Senior Designer and Product Development team in validating functionality, color accuracy, hand feel, and overall quality to ensure a high-quality product delivery.

· Stay current on handbag construction techniques, materials, hardware innovations, and industry quality standards to support continuous product improvement.

· Organize and maintain physical samples, ensuring all prototypes, fits, and production samples are properly labeled, tracked, and stored throughout the development process;

· Track and manage custom prints and artwork, ensuring correct placement, scale, color accuracy, and approvals across all samples and production stages.

Qualifications:

Education:

· Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent DEC.

Profile:

Problem-Solving & Growth Mindset: Ability to proactively identify challenges, propose effective solutions, and grow technical knowledge on the job, with guidance and mentorship from the Senior Designer.

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is required.

Experience: Prior experience in the fashion industry or a related field, with handbags and accessories experience considered an asset.

Creativity: Strong creative and artistic skills with the ability to translate ideas into visually appealing and market-relevant handbag designs.

Communication Skills: Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams, clients, and overseas vendors.

Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
