About the role:
The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patients and families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Meditech Expanse Training Manager to oversee the planning,
development, and delivery of training programs related to the Meditech Expanse Electronic Health Record (EHR)
system. The ideal candidate will have in‑depth knowledge of clinical systems, a strong background in healthcare IT
training, and proven leadership skills. In this role, you will collaborate with clinical, technical, and operational teams to
ensure that end‑users are proficient and confident in using the Meditech Expanse system.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Training Program Development & Implementation including the development of a Regional Training Plan for the
Expanse Implementation
* Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive training programs for Meditech Expanse system users, including
clinical and administrative staff.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand training needs and tailor content for various user groups.
* Develop training materials such as manuals, eLearning modules, job aids, and videos.
* Plan and manage the delivery of classroom and virtual training sessions, ensuring alignment with organizational
goals.
* Develop plans for post go live training sustainment.
* Assess options, evaluate vendors and Recommend (select) e‑learning solutions including platforms and other in
context system help or content
* Lead and manage (supervise) a team of trainers responsible for delivering Meditech Expanse training across the
NW Region.
* Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback to the training team.
* Ensure trainers are well‑equipped with the latest knowledge of system updates, workflows, and best practices.
* Oversee the creation of user support resources, including FAQs and troubleshooting guides.
* Monitor the progress of training and track user performance to identify areas of improvement.
* Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on feedback from end‑users and training evaluations.
* Work closely with the IT and clinical teams to ensure training is aligned with system upgrades, new features, and
workflow changes.
* Assist in testing system changes and new features to ensure they are effectively integrated into training programs.
* Maintain accurate records of enrollment, training sessions, materials, and participant progress.
* Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on the status of training programs and user adoption
metrics.
* Must provide services in a manner that is consistent with TBRHSC mission, vision, values and reflects the
philosophy of patient and family centred care.
* Must treat all information concerning patient affairs or illnesses and/or hospital business as confidential, privileged
information, which must never be discussed except in the course of duty.
* Must be accountable for ensuring the safest patient care and services and for recognizing and reporting safety
incidents or potentially unsafe conditions.
* Must abide by the Code of Conduct, work to foster an inclusive environment that honours each individual's
uniqueness, and provides a culturally safe experience through respect and compassion for all staff, professional
staff, patients, and community partners.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
* Must be a regulated health professional in good standing (e.g., RN, RPN, Nurse Practitioner, Pharmacist,
Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Respiratory Therapist, Medical Radiation Technologist, Social Worker,
Dietitian, etc.).
* Current registration with the relevant regulatory college.
* Consideration will be given to candidates with degrees/certifications in a relevant related field‑ e.g., Health
Information Management / Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Education, or
similar.
* Master's degree (MHA, MBA, MN or relevant graduate degree) preferred.
* Recent clinical experience and experience using current systems is preferred.
* 3‑5 years experience in education/training, clinical system implementation related roles.
* Demonstrated experience (or familiarity) with MEDITECH Expanse ‑ or other EHR/clinical information systems ‑
preferred.
* Experience designing curriculum for adult learners; familiarity with instructional design, e‑learning tools, and
training evaluation methodologies.
* Strong project management skills; ability to coordinate training across multiple departments and schedules.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to translate technical concepts to non‑technical users.
* Strong interpersonal and advanced leadership skills; ability to build relationships with clinical staff and lead
"train‑the‑trainer" initiatives.
Skills/Abilities:
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
* Strong knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles.
* Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and eLearning platforms.
* Problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues in training environments.
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
Assets:
* Meditech Expanse certification or other EHR‑related certifications are an asset
Salary Range: $48.410 to 60.510
