The Role

Reporting to the General Manager
, the
Operations Manager
will play a key leadership role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of stewardship programs across the Maritime provinces. This position oversees program execution and performance, providing direction and support to a team of field staff to maintain operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include
:

  • Support operational planning and execution to advance program goals and ensure effective delivery across the Maritime provinces
  • Oversee data collection, performance evaluation, and reporting of programs to ensure we meet compliance and objectives
  • Lead and support the field team across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for field partners, ensuring regular operational activities remain on track and aligned with organizational priorities
  • Support the General Manager in stakeholder relations and lead engagement activities where appropriate to strengthen partnerships and program outcomes
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of communication strategies, public awareness campaigns, and educational initiatives that promote program objectives
  • Lead identified special projects, including program enhancements, research-driven initiatives, and stakeholder engagement activities, ensuring they are executed on time and in alignment with strategic goals
  • Assist the General Manager in providing operational updates and insights to the Board of Directors and related committees
  • Review research and analysis prepared by external consultants to ensure accuracy and relevance; prepare reports and recommendations to inform decision-making

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary education in environmental studies, sciences, business administration, public policy, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in non-profit management, program delivery, environmental services, sciences, public administration or related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to exercise diplomacy and build trust with diverse audiences
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and within a dispersed team
  • Financial acumen with experience balancing program delivery against budget realities
  • Demonstrated analytical skill set with the ability to assess complex information, identify trends, and provide actionable insights
  • Knowledge of environmental stewardship programs, waste management, or extended producer responsibility (EPR) is considered a strong asset
  • English is required, and French is a strong asset

Other requirements:

  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel approximately 2 days a week in the field
  • Occasional irregular working hours to attend meetings, tradeshows or conferences where appropriate
  • Located in one of the Maritime provinces (NB, NS, or PEI)
