Calgary, Alberta, Canada Momentum Worldwide Full time

What Are We Looking For
We are hiring someone in Calgary, Alberta, Canada who will work closely with our Toronto team.

We're looking for an experienced
Account Director
to lead a high-profile, integrated sponsorship and experiential marketing portfolio for
General Motors
. This role sits at the center of strategy, execution, and client leadership — owning day-to-day client relationships while guiding internal teams and inter-agency partners to deliver best-in-class brand experiences across Canada.

You'll be responsible for translating GM's business and brand objectives into impactful experiential programs, managing complex, multi-workstream initiatives, and ensuring flawless execution across events, activations, and integrated campaigns. This is a leadership role for someone who is equally comfortable with
senior client stakeholders
,
cross-functional agency teams
, and
on-the-ground execution
.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES)
Client & Account Leadership

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day client lead for General Motors, managing relationships, expectations, and delivery across multiple programs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, identifying opportunities to evolve and grow GM's experiential and sponsorship strategy.
  • Lead client communications, status updates, presentations, and post-program reporting with confidence and clarity.
  • Navigate and lead collaboration across inter-agency teams, ensuring alignment, accountability, and shared success.

Strategy & Program Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of integrated experiential, event, and sponsorship programs aligned to GM's brand and business objectives.
  • Guide teams in translating strategy into compelling, consumer-first experiences across live, hybrid, and omnichannel touchpoints.
  • Identify insights, performance learnings, and optimization opportunities to continuously improve program effectiveness.

Team & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead and mentor internal account and project teams, fostering strong collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
  • Partner closely with creative, production, strategy, and external agency partners to deliver cohesive, on-strategy work.
  • Proactively troubleshoot challenges, manage risk, and ensure solutions are implemented quickly and effectively.

Financial & Operational Management

  • Own budget development, management, and reconciliation across large-scale experiential programs.
  • Ensure programs are delivered on time, on budget, and in accordance with agency processes and standards.
  • Oversee resourcing plans, timelines, and operational workflows across concurrent initiatives.

On-Site Leadership

  • Travel as needed to support key programs and events, acting as the senior agency lead on the ground.
  • Oversee execution in real time, ensuring quality, client confidence, and team alignment.

HERE'S WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
)

  • 8+ years of experience in experiential marketing, sponsorship, events, or integrated marketing, ideally within an agency environment.
  • Proven experience leading large, complex programs for major brands (automotive experience is an asset, but not required).
  • Strong background managing inter-agency teams and multiple external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain senior-level client relationships.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized, calm under pressure, and effective in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget creation, management, and reconciliation.
  • Strategic mindset paired with hands-on execution experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

WHY THIS ROLE IS A GREAT NEXT STEP

  • Opportunity to lead a flagship automotive client with national visibility.
  • High degree of ownership, influence, and strategic input.
  • Exposure to integrated work across experiential, sponsorship, and broader brand ecosystems.
  • Collaborative agency culture with strong creative and production partners.
