Assistant Field Manager Landscaping

Takla Maintenance (TM Corp) is a family-owned business operating in Edmonton. TM Corp offers commercial scale landscaping services such as site preparation, tree, shrub and turf installation, plant care and vegetation control.
The assistant field manager (AM) , Project Manager (PM) will be required to work primarily in the landscape maintenance /construction departments, which is responsible for lawn mowing, watering, tree and shrub pruning, landscape deficiency correction and herbicide application. This position is opening immediately. During the summer season hours of operation are Monday – Saturday from 8 AM – 6 PM. Compensation ranges from $55,000-$80,000/year, depending upon experience.
We are looking for an individual who can organically grow into a senior management role as the company is expanding. The successful candidate will have previous landscape construction and/or maintenance experience. The assistant manager (AM) / project manager (PM) will report directly to the construction and the maintenance manager and will be required to help communicate work assignments to team leads. The AM /PM will supervise and coordinate the activities of construction team leads and water truck drivers. This includes establishing work schedules and procedures and resolve work-related problems, both technical and interpersonal. The new manager will also help with the requisition of supplies and materials and maintain financial and personnel records. He or she will help hire seasonal staff and train workers in job duties and company policies. Finally, the AM / PM will assist with quality control and site visits with clients and municipal inspectors to facilitate and achieve compliance measures.
Must haves:
Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record & reliable transportation
Seasonal landscaping experience
Physically fit, reliable, good attention to detail & a positive attitude
Willingness to work overtime when required (up to 12 hours shifts)
Diploma or degree in:
Landscape Architectural Technology
Environmental Assessment and Restoration
Duties and expectations include, but are not limited to:
Monitor jobsite productivity and report to managers
Interpret architectural design drawings and construction maps
Assist in evaluation of daily safety documentation
Assist in training and managing personnel
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations
Conduct routine site inspections & enforce safety policies
Review maintenance logs for all tasks completed
Learn and contribute to naturalization approaches
Supervise herbicide application
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
First-aid certification
CSTS certification
ISA certification
Leadership training
Safety training
Mechanically inclined
