Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of vehicles and equipment, including loaders, skid steers, plow trucks, tandem trucks, and other machinery used for landscaping and snow removal. This is a hands-on position that requires expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues, as well as performing preventive maintenance on a variety of heavy-duty equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on a variety of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment (loaders, skid steers, tandem trucks, plow trucks, etc.)
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform necessary repairs
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other critical components
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts used
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure minimal downtime and quick turnaround for repairs
- Ensure all work meets safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Assist with any emergency breakdowns in the field as needed
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification (preferred) or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in heavy equipment and vehicle repair, particularly in landscaping, construction, or similar industries
- Experience working with loaders, skid steers, tandem trucks, and plow trucks
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Proficient with various hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair procedures
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong commitment to safety and quality of work
- Valid driver's license (Class 5 or higher; Class 1/3 an asset)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
