Overview

As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you will play a vital role in our manufacturing process, transforming raw materials into precision components that meet the highest quality standards. You'll operate and program CNC machinery, ensuring that every piece produced aligns with technical specifications and customer requirements. Your expertise will drive efficiency and innovation in our production line, contributing to our commitment to excellence.

What you'll do

  • Operate CNC lathes to manufacture precision parts according to blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Program CNC machines using Mazatrol and Mastercam programming software for optimal performance.
  • Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure accurate part specifications.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the machining process.
  • Employ precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions.
  • Collaborate with other team members to refine processes and improve production efficiency through lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Make recommendations, as and when needed for machine tool improvements. Specifically, to improve machining performance and optimize cycle times.
  • Exceptional communication skills are essential.
  • Experience working for an ISO certified company.
  • Fill out in a timely fashion all relevant documentation. The primary 3 being: Inspection Reports – Setup Sheets – Shop Travelers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols when operating power tools and hand tools.
  • Must be able to provide recent criminal record check for Controlled Goods Program.

Preferred qualifications

  • Must have 20 years' experience as a CNC Lathe machinist on MAZAK machines.
  • Excellent understanding of tool applications, function and geometry.
