Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, proficiency in CNC programming, and experience operating various machining equipment. This role involves setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines to produce precision parts according to detailed specifications. The CNC Machinist will play a vital part in ensuring high-quality production standards and maintaining efficient manufacturing processes.

Duties

  • Set up and operate CNC machinery including CNC lathes and milling machines using Fanuc controls.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models created in SolidWorks or other CAD software.
  • Program CNC machines to produce parts with precise dimensions, utilizing knowledge of CNC programming languages.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to inspect parts for quality control.
  • Adjust machine parameters based on inspection results to meet tight tolerances.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Assist with assembly processes when required, utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklift operation as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols related to machining operations and handle materials with care.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming and familiarity with Fanuc controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Knowledge of machining processes including turning, milling, welding, and assembly.
  • Skilled in using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine settings.
  • Experience operating CNC lathe and CNC milling machines effectively.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, forklift operation, and welding techniques.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles for continuous improvement initiatives.
