Our state-of-the-art centers of community offer a range of health, fitness, and aquatics programs for individuals and families.The Child, Youth, & Family Supervisor oversees programming for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years, ensuring high-quality experiences for all participants. This position provides leadership through supervision and coaching of staff and volunteers, as well as fostering a safe and supportive environment. Additionally, this position plays a key role in developing engaging youth programs that promote growth and community connection.Major Responsibilities:Develop and deliver programs for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years, including Y Play and Youth Drop-Off programs• Drive youth membership acquisition and retention through engaging initiativesRecruit, schedule, and manage staff and volunteers, including payroll, coaching, and professional developmentMaintain clean, safe, and welcoming program spaces in compliance with YMCA standardsServe as Duty Staff at least one evening per week and one weekend day, acting as the on-site manager to resolve issues for staff, volunteers, and membersUtilize established systems to track and report member satisfaction, program trends, and participation dataOrganize programs that promote healthy child development through nutrition, education, physical literacy, and family supportCollaborate with the Center Manager to develop and monitor the departmental operating budget, addressing variances promptly and executing approved budgets effectivelyQualifications-you bring:Diploma in Recreation, Teaching or Child Care Related programs2+ years of related experience in developing and facilitating community-based programming and services for a wide demographic baseExperience training and supervising large staff and volunteer teamsCurrent Standard First Aid and CPR‐C & AED certificateSuccessful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactorySuccessful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.About YMCA BC:By igniting belonging and championing health equity, YMCA BC strengthens the foundations of community.
