About the Role

  • Architect, develop, and deploy GenAI services ingesting SCADA, PI System, WITSML, and reservoir data for drilling optimization, equipment reliability, and emissions reduction.
  • Fine-tune and evaluate LLMs and vision models on domain-specific datasets (well files, P&IDs, procedures, regulatory filings).
  • Build secure, scalable APIs/microservices using Python or TypeScript; containerize using Docker for Kubernetes/EKS or OpenShift.
  • Implement RAG pipelines with vector databases (OpenSearch, Milvus) for technical-document Q&A.
  • Optimize model inference using DeepSpeed, TensorRT, or vLLM; benchmark performance and cost.
  • Integrate GenAI capabilities into web, mobile, and edge applications for well sites, plants, and control centres.
  • Apply best practices: CI/CD (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD), automated testing, Terraform/Pulumi, and secure coding aligned with AER regulations.
  • Stay current with advances in RLHF, RAG, and agentic workflows for oil & gas applications.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 3+ years software engineering, including 1+ year delivering GenAI/LLM products.
  • Advanced Python (FastAPI, PyTorch, Hugging Face); plus , Go, or Java.
  • Production experience with GPU workloads on AWS or Azure (SageMaker, Bedrock, Azure ML).
  • Knowledge of oil & gas formats (LAS, WITSML, PI AF, OSDU) or high learning agility.
  • Strong foundation in algorithms, distributed systems, and data engineering (Spark, Kafka, Delta Lake).
  • Commitment to responsible AI, governance, and cybersecurity for critical infrastructure.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience integrating GenAI with historian data, geoscience tools (Petrel, Kingdom), or maintenance systems (SAP PM, Maximo).
  • Open-source contributions or publications.
  • Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex.
  • Knowledge of AER, CAPP regulations.
  • Background in real-time production analytics or emissions monitoring.
