Role Description
The Senior AI Developer is responsible for building and delivering advanced Generative AI (Gen AI) capabilities within Seequent's Evo geoscience data platform. This role will shape how Gen AI is integrated into products, transforming prototypes into scalable, secure, production-ready features. The developer will work cross-functionally with global teams to build AI tools that help users understand their data, automate workflows, and interact with AI agents. This position also involves designing evaluation systems, enhancing ML tools, and contributing to the long-term AI strategy while ensuring strict data privacy and security.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to

  • Collaborate with global engineering, product, and data science teams.
  • Lead development of Gen AI features across the Evo platform.
  • Convert prototypes into secure, scalable, production-ready product features.
  • Build evaluation systems for continuous model and product improvement.
  • Promote best practices for rapid, sustainable Gen AI development.
  • Ensure customer data is protected and used with explicit consent.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert in design and architecture discussions.
  • Maintain, extend, and generalize existing ML and analytics tools.
  • Advocate for tools that enhance geoscience data insights and automation.
  • Continuously expand knowledge in geoscience, ML, analytics, and software delivery.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • 7+ years in software engineering or data science roles.
  • 1+ year building and operating Gen AI/LLM products in production.
  • Commercial experience with Python and a major cloud provider (Google Cloud preferred).
  • Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining Gen AI applications.

Additional Information:

  • Office-based working environment, work from our Toronto or Calgary Office a minimum of two days per week.
