There is an opportunity to join our team as a Junior Project Accountant.

Hours are Mon – Fri, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. The position is full-time / permanent.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review of all invoices received for accuracy, proper approvals and backup;
  • Process and post all invoices in the ERP accounting system, including processing cheque payments;
  • Provide information on status of invoices/payments to suppliers or internal staff as requested;
  • Maintain and update the A/P filing system including set up of new projects;
  • Review employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policy;
  • Support with accounts payable inquiries / calls;
  • Prepare and reconcile holdback payments;
  • Assist with month/quarter end closings;
  • Assist with tax remittances;

Education and Experience:

  • Post secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline;
  • 5+ years of local accounting experience;
  • Experience in the construction industry and cost accounting is ideal;
  • Previous experience with Jonas accounting software is preferred;

  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office;
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work;
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints;
  • Can manage a multitude of files and complex data;
  • A strategic thinker and problem solver;

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
