TITLE: Assistant Manager STATUS: 1.0 FTE - Permanent

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will work closely with the Manager in leading and coordinating overall operations, and will help supervise all

departments to ensure that duties are being performed effectively and efficiently. Duties will further include facilitating a

harmonious working relationship among staff members through strong communication and leadership skills and the

ability to work cooperatively and professionally with staff and residents alike.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Related Post-Secondary education, preferably in HR, administration or management, social services or related field
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
  • Experience working with seniors
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Creative and person-centered approach to clients, families, volunteers and staff
  • Computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Internet, with an understanding of

accounting processes

  • Knowledge of WHMIS and compliance with safe work procedures
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to travel on a regular basis

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Supervision of staff to ensure duties are being performed effectively and efficiently
  • Works closely with the Manager in leading and coordinating overall operations; including labor relations, hiring,

approval of staff hours and leave requests

  • Assists with accounting, payroll and scheduling processes under the direction of the Manager

  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality

  • Other duties as assigned

PAY RATE: As per MOS collective agreement
