Overview

We are seeking detail-oriented and motivated candidates with an accounting degree/diploma and 1-2 years of experience to join our team.

As a Junior Property Accountant, you will be expected to carry out the general accounting duties outlined below as well as be responsible for the specific duties related to Property Accounting .

Duties - General Accounting (Applies to All Successful Candidates)

  • Assist in maintaining accounting records - posting entries, filing, data entry, etc.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other cash management related tasks.
  • Assist in process improvement in the financial reporting process- compiling, summarizing and formatting excel worksheets for enhanced functionality
  • Assist the accounts receivable and accounts payable department in their related tasks.
  • Ensure accounting files are organized and updated.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
  • Other tasks as requested by Corporate, Development and Property Management Accountants as the need arises.

Duties - Property Accounting

  • Assist with full cycle accounting for a portfolio of office and retail properties
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance various accounts.
  • Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers, and prepare financial statements.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and year-end recoveries.
  • Prepare and/or review consolidated financial statements and year-end reporting.
  • Provide support for accounts payable processing.
  • Prepares documents, processes, and reconciles internal (inter-company) and external accounts.

Qualifications

  • Completed bachelor's degree or diploma in accounting (required).
  • 1-2 years of experience in full cycle accounting (required).
  • 1 + years of property accounting experience (preferred).
  • Fluency is written and spoken English (required).
  • Experience using Yardi Voyager (preferred).
  • Real estate industry Experience (preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
