Toronto ON MH Z, Canada Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre Full time

Build CONC's first dedicated fundraising function and shape how resource development grows over time. A foundational role for a fundraiser who enjoys building systems, setting priorities, and growing impact

About the Role

Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre (CONC) is seeking a Fundraising & Resource Development Manager to build and grow our fundraising function.

This is CONC's first dedicated fundraising and resource development role. The successful candidate will play a foundational role in shaping how we approach fundraising — establishing systems, setting priorities, and helping the organization grow sustainably over time. Initial focus for this role will be grants, foundations, and relationship-based fundraising.

Reporting to the Director of Shelters & Housing, this role works cross-organizationally with program managers and in close partnership with Executive Leadership. This reporting structure reflects CONC's integrated service model and commitment to aligning fundraising closely with program impact.

Key Responsibilities

Building the Fundraising Function (Primary Focus)

  • Establish foundational fundraising systems, processes, and tools appropriate to CONC's size and stage.
  • Work with leadership to define realistic priorities, phased goals, and measures of success.
  • Develop clear prospect pipelines, tracking practices, and stewardship approaches over time.

Grants & Institutional Funding

  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities from foundations, government, and other institutional funders.
  • Write and coordinate grant applications and reporting, working with program and finance teams to gather required information.
  • Maintain an organized grants calendar and tracking system.

Donor & Partner Relationships

  • Support the cultivation and stewardship of funders, donors, and community partners.
  • Contribute to donor communications, recognition, and reporting in collaboration with the Communications team.
  • Help strengthen CONC's approach to relationship-based fundraising.

Strategy, Collaboration & Reporting

  • Collaborate with leadership and internal teams to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities and impact.
  • Prepare high-level fundraising updates and insights for senior leadership and, as appropriate, the Board.
  • Stay informed of sector trends and emerging opportunities relevant to CONC's mission.

What This Role Is — and Is Not

This role is:

  • A foundational, growth-oriented opportunity
  • A chance to build systems and shape strategy
  • Supported by leadership that understands fundraising takes time

This role is not:

  • A fully built fundraising department on Day 1
  • Expected to do "everything at once"
  • A solo capital campaign lead without organizational support

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3–7 years of experience in fundraising, resource development, or grant writing within the nonprofit or public sector.
  • Demonstrated success in securing grants and/or managing institutional funding relationships.
  • Strong writing and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfort working in evolving environments and helping to build structure where it doesn't yet exist.
  • Experience with donor or grant tracking systems (specific platforms are flexible).
  • Alignment with CONC's mission and commitment to equity, inclusion, and community-based work.

Assets (but not required):

  • CFRE or related professional development
  • Experience supporting major gifts, corporate partnerships, or campaigns
  • Familiarity with CRA fundraising and receipting requirements

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid work arrangement with flexibility.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work to support meetings or events.
  • Local travel within Toronto as needed.

Why Join CONC

  • Make a meaningful impact in a community-based organization serving diverse and marginalized communities.
  • Shape a new function with leadership support and realistic expectations.
  • Work collaboratively across programs, communications, and leadership.
  • Build something that lasts.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $85,000.00-$105,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Extended health care
  • Paid time off
  • RRSP match

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto, ON M6H 3Z5
