MME is seeking an accomplished Business Development Manager to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a high-caliber, well-connected business development professional with strong experience in the industrial electrical sector. The successful candidate will bring a proven track record of strategic relationship building, industry credibility, and a deep understanding of electrical contracting markets across Alberta.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding our client base, and strengthening MME's position as a trusted industrial electrical contractor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development & Strategic Growth
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to expand MME's presence in the industrial electrical and instrumentation market.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities with industrial clients, EPCs, and industry partners.
- Foster long-term relationships with key clients, industry influencers, and decision-makers.
- Lead proposal development, pricing strategies, and bid submissions in collaboration with estimating and operations teams.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to inform strategy and decision-making.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking forums to promote MME's capabilities and brand.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary contact for strategic accounts, ensuring excellent service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Conduct regular client meetings, site visits, and follow-ups to maintain strong partnerships.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure operational alignment and exceptional project execution.
Internal Leadership & Collaboration
- Work with senior leadership to set growth targets, revenue objectives, and market priorities.
- Provide insights and reporting on pipeline activity, forecasted work, and market conditions.
- Act as an ambassador for MME's values, culture, and reputation in all external and internal interactions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3 years of progressive business development experience within industrial electrical contracting, instrumentation, or related heavy industrial sectors.
- Strong industry presence and existing network within Alberta's industrial markets (oil & gas, petrochemical, energy, mining, utilities, etc.).
- Demonstrated success securing mid- to large-scale industrial electrical projects or service agreements.
- Technical understanding of electrical/instrumentation scopes, construction processes, and industrial client needs.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to build trust, influence decisions, and foster long-term partnerships.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Alberta as required.
