What is the opportunity?

As an Actuarial Analyst Co-op, you will provide support to RBC Insurance's Longevity Line of Business. You will be part of a very inclusive team of highly skilled individuals and support for the development, integration and implementation of longevity reinsurance data as a strategic asset for RBC. Applies experience and working knowledge to perform a combination of routine tasks and operational assignments.

What will you do?
  • Perform data analysis, provide insights and recommendations on Data Cleanses and Annual Reviews to assess the profitability of Longevity Inforce deals
  • Leverage actuarial expertise to efficiently and accurately integrate client's post pricing data from a variety of data sources into the requirement writings for the longevity data administration system and ensure smooth transition to operations.
  • Support and collaborate with various internal stakeholders to resolve data issues within the longevity data administration system.
  • Interface with internal stakeholders to gain insights on how information is consumed by the audience, provide ad hoc analytics and recommendations for action as needed.
  • Integrate new tools and software to streamline processes and improve efficiency, working methods, and culture within the team.
What do you need to succeed?Must Have:
  • Working knowledge of Excel (VBA), MS Access (SQL), Python or R
  • Strong analytical, modeling, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to be able to liaise with stakeholders
Nice To Have:
  • Actuarial exposure/background
  • Previous experience with Moody's/GGY AXIS and Datalink
  • Knowledge of the longevity market
  • Proven ability to work effectively and independently, and as part of a virtual team
  • Proven ability to think 'outside of the box' and the vision to innovate current processes and solution

Please note:

This posting is for a 4-month Summer Student placement with a start date of May 2026, and end-date of August 2026. In order to be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning to school after the work term end-date of August 2026; or
  • If you are not returning to school (i.e., are graduating in August 2026), you must require the work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
