As a key member of our actuarial team, the Actuarial Associate plays a crucial role in financial reporting, forecasting, and building tools that shape our strategic direction. **What you will be doing**:

- Build, test, and refine processes for the IFRS 17 financial reporting, disclosures, and valuation efficiency.
- Provide support in fulfilling regulatory reporting requirements.
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and analysis.
- Responsible for the quarterly determination of IBNR’s.
- Perform and/or review gains and losses analysis.
- Provide financial forecasts of actuarial liabilities and investment income for use in the annual Budget.
- Perform and/or review experience studies and profitability analysis.
- Communicate assumptions, observations, and conclusions to stakeholders and provide recommendations within set timelines.
- Master actuarial tools and workflows, recommend enhancements, and implement approved changes.
- Gain leadership experience through peer reviews, coaching teammates, and contributing to team planning and prioritization.

**What you bring to the team**:

- Minimum 5 years of work experience within the Property and Casualty insurance field.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree with a major in actuarial science.
- Attainment of the Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (A.C.A.S.) designation.
- Actively pursuing the Fellowship of the Casualty Actuarial Society (F.C.A.S.) designation.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
- Proficient knowledge of at least 2 programming languages (eg: SQL, SAS, VBA, Python & R).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make informed decisions.
- High level of attention to detail, organization skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

**How you will succeed**:
In the first year, success will be measured by the accurate and timely completion of valuation tasks, effective use of actuarial software, and ensuring 100% compliance with reporting standards. Demonstrating a solid understanding of core principles while contributing to team projects and process improvements is key. Success is also reflected in progress on actuarial exams and greater independence in daily tasks.
