About us and the job
Two Whales Coffee Shop is a co-operative-owned coffee shop and restaurant providing the community of Port Rexton with the highest quality espresso coffees, teas, soft drinks and simple, delicious food and cakes made on the premises. We are a key hub in the wider community of the Bonavista Peninsula for great coffee and food as well as contributing to the local art scene by offering month-long spaces for visual art exhibitions throughout the season.
Our baristas are responsible, with other serving staff, to set up the coffee shop/restaurant at the start of the day ensuring that all consumables are well stocked and the restaurant is clean and ready for customers. They will take orders from customers, answer questions on food and drinks including specific dietary requirements such as gluten-free and vegetarian, and relay the orders to kitchen staff. They will make espresso coffees, teas and other soft drinks and serve them with the food. They will put the orders into the till and take monies (cash and debit/credit cards). They will look after customer needs and answer questions on local activities and provide tourist information. At the end of the day, they will clean and tidy the restaurant and restock as necessary. They will work closely with all other staff.

Experience in a kitchen or on an espresso machine is a plus, but everyone starts somewhere — we're glad to get you where you want to be.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00-$18.25 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
