We are seeking dynamic and passionate individuals to join our team as Baristas for our new restaurant; Mamattuk, located in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL.

Baristas are able to create a memorable and lasting impression whereby every guest is greeted and addressed with the upmost energy and friendly demeanor while they are waiting for their beverage. Baristas' passion for guest service and quality product is unparalleled. Baristas are encouraged to engage with guests in conversation as well as live by the brand values by being playfully outgoing and invoking a positive spirit into their daily actions.

Barista Key Roles:

  • Knowledgeable and ready to answer all questions regarding the coffee program, coffee roaster and the coffee beans
  • Give the guest suggestions and recommendations for food & drinks based on their wants or needs
  • Ensure service standards are met while executing to standard coffee and tea beverages
  • Set up and maintenance of the espresso machine and station
  • Be enthusiastic, professional, and hospitable
  • Possess a sincere attitude to be of service to others with a desire to succeed

Barista Competencies:

  • Collaborative in a team environment, focused on success of the team not individual
  • Maintain a sense of urgency and momentum
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and management.
  • Knowledgeable in craft coffee production, roasting and offerings as well as espresso machine functioning and maintenance

Education and Job Requirements:

  • Ability to prioritize and stay organized in a high-paced environment
  • Minimum of 1-year related barista experience an asset
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal
  • Experience with a point-of-sale system
  • Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to carry and lift items weighing 20lbs
  • Must be able to stoop and bend
  • Must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time to continuously perform essential job functions
