About the Role:

We are seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic – Truck and Trailer to join our growing team. Based in Edmonton, this role involves maintaining, repairing, and inspecting on-highway oilfield vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.

This hands-on, physically demanding role involves regular use of tools, lifting 50+ lbs, and working outdoors in all weather. If you're a detail-oriented problem solver who takes pride in quality mechanical work, we want to hear from you.

Head Office: Edmonton, AB | Travel: Minimal; shop-based with some fieldwork possible

Reports To: Shop Foreman

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on oilfield equipment such as semi-trucks, tractors and trailers.
  • Troubleshoot and investigate mechanical faults or malfunctions.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts, components, and systems.
  • Ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Test repaired vehicles and equipment for proper performance.
  • Complete service reports, inspection checklists, and work orders accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, welding and cutting equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all company safety policies and shop procedures.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic (preferred); 3rd & 4th year apprentices welcome
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with clean abstract
  • CVIP Certification (strong asset)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with oilfield equipment (tractors/trailers), including engine rebuilds, drive train repairs, brake/hydraulic systems, and CVIP documentation
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Willing to learn and adapt to changing priorities

Preferred Assets:

  • Class 1 or 3 license a strong asset

Hours of Work:

Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm

Physical Requirements:

  • This role requires the ability to work in a physically demanding, safety-sensitive environment:
  • Work outdoors in extreme weather (hot, cold, wet/damp)
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs or more
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for mechanical tasks
  • Crouch, kneel, bend, and stand for long periods
  • Safely navigate around large, moving equipment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36.00-$57.00 per hour
