Raj Gill Law Corporation is seeking a motivated Family and Civil Litigation Lawyer to join our growing practice in Abbotsford, BC on a split-pay (fee-share) basis. We welcome applications from entry-level lawyers, including newly called lawyers, as well as those with litigation experience.

This role is well-suited for a lawyer who wants hands-on litigation exposure, flexible practice structure, and the opportunity to grow their own practice with firm support.

Practice Areas

  • Family law (parenting, support, property division, applications, trials)
  • Civil litigation (contract disputes, debt recovery, property-related disputes)
  • Chambers applications, mediations, and trials
  • Supreme Court of BC and Provincial Court matters

Responsibilities

  • Manage files independently with appropriate supervision (for junior lawyers)
  • Appear in Provincial Court and Supreme Court of BC
  • Draft pleadings, affidavits, applications, and settlement materials
  • Conduct discoveries, mediations, and negotiations
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and the court

Requirements

  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia (or eligible for call)
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
  • Interest in family and civil litigation
  • Entry-level lawyers and newly called lawyers are encouraged to apply

Compensation Structure

  • Split-pay / fee-share arrangement (details to be discussed based on experience and level of involvement)
