Summary:
We are looking for Formwork Carpenters with experience working on exposed concrete. These projects require clean, accurate work because the concrete will be left visible as a final finish.
You'll need to build forms that are straight, square, and set to tight measurements. You'll also work closely with finishers, site supervisors, and other team members to make sure the job is done right and looks great.
Key Responsibilities● Build and install formwork for architectural concrete
● Follow detailed measurements and drawings
● Work with tools like saws, laser levels, and screeds
● Make sure forms are clean, tight, and ready for concrete
● Adjust to design or site changes when needed
● Follow project specs and quality standards
● Keep the job site clean and safe
● Work well with others to complete the job
● Minimum 3 years of experience as a Formwork Carpenter in construction.
● Experience with formwork, especially for exposed concrete
● Able to read drawings and measure accurately
● Knowledge of how concrete behaves (slump, curing, etc.)
● WHMIS 2015
● Good communication and problem-solving skills
● Strong focus on safety and quality
● Concrete finishing experience
● Knowledge of ACI or CSA concrete standards
● Fall Protection certification
● Confined Space training
● Experience using light equipment
Work Conditions:
This role may require you to work in all weather conditions, inside and outside. Locations of work may vary within the radius of your chosen location: Vancouver. Sourcing your own means of transportation to and from your working location will be required.
We schedule our workers on a 40 hour per week basis (Monday-Friday), with pay days falling bi-weekly on a Friday. Shift times may vary, however our usual shift is 7:30am-3:30pm (8 hours). Overtime may be required on occasion and will be paid within the provincial employee pay legislation guidelines.
