At our Underground Drilling division, we are now looking for an experienced Manager to lead our Training Center of Excellence. In this role you will conceptualize and establish a world class global training center for underground drilling in close collaboration with all sales areas. This global position offers the unique possibility to build underground drilling operational competence across the technical teams in sales areas. The role is permanent and based in Tampere (Myllypuro), Finland. Position requires extensive international travelling.

The Underground Drilling division within Business area Mining is an industry leading global provider of drilling equipment for underground mining and tunneling industry with focus on technology development and future innovative solutions to enable sustainable operations for our customers. Sandvik Mining and Construction Oy's Tampere site is a global technology and manufacturing center for Underground Drilling equipment.
Your mission
As a Training Centre of Excellence Manager, your priority will be to understand customer needs and industry trends to plan and execute effective technical training strategies. You oversee the underground drilling technical competence development activities globally and ensure competitiveness, equipment performance and uncompromised safety. Finally, you will lead co-operation between different stakeholders by ensuring great collaboration and communication across teams, functions, borders, and with external partners to shape the future of our industry.
Your main responsibilities
- Ownership of the underground drilling operational training strategy across all underground drilling fleet
- Upskilling technical teams in sales organizations around the world to master optimized drilling, drilling applications and mining processes
- Ensuring right hands-on skillsets in right locations at right times
- Developing underground drilling operational training offering
- Designing and implementing effective operational training programs for technical teams globally
- Proactively collecting and understanding customer needs and industry trends
- Collaborating and leading across different teams, internally and externally
Your background and what we find important
We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative and customer focused leader. You have demonstrated good leadership skills and you have good collaboration and presentation skills. You have a track record of managing stakeholders across cultures. To succeed in this role, you will need to have a university degree in technical field and good understanding of the mining industry and earth moving machinery. You have a positive and energetic mindset, and you enjoy working in an international business environment. Fluent spoken and written English is expected, Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.
Sandvik is dedicated to ensuring the health and work ability of all employees. In line with risk assessments for the underground mining industry, regular health examinations are provided. Employees regularly working underground must successfully complete a specific health examination before an employment contract is offered.
