About SafelyYou
SafelyYou's passionate mission is to empower safer, more person-centered care across senior living through world-leading AI, industry-changing hardware, and remote expert clinicians, significantly improving outcomes for residents while increasing peace of mind for families and reducing costs for communities.
Originating in 2015 as the doctoral research of CEO George Netscher—and inspired by his own family's experience with Alzheimer's disease—SafelyYou was spun out of UC Berkeley's Artificial Intelligence Research Lab, one of the top five AI research groups in the world. And today, our company is solving critical challenges in senior living, from resident falls and ER visits to staffing concerns, length of stay, and NOI. All helping ensure that communities can focus on improved care for residents while still reaching their financial goals.
SafelyYou is one of five most innovative fall technologies referenced in the Senate Falls Report (2019), a winner of the McKnight's Tech Partner of the Year, and has been named to Fortune's Impact 20 list, which recognizes companies making people's lives better through innovation.
Your Role at SafelyYou
The Senior Director of Product will serve as a key operational partner to the Chief Product Officer and our current product leadership, ensuring SafelyYou's product strategy is executed with precision, alignment, and measurable outcomes. You'll work with the CPO to lead and align three high-performing product functions:
- Technical Product Management – leading Product Owners embedded with 8 engineering teams to deliver technical excellence
- Product Management – driving customer discovery, design, and definition of value for all products and features
- Product Line Management – owning business outcomes for our four product lines, managing cross-functionally across go-to-market, operations, and early deployments
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy into Action
- Partner with the CPO, executive team, and product leadership to define and drive SafelyYou's multi-year product strategy and portfolio vision.
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable roadmaps and measurable outcomes across product lines.
- Oversee product planning and execution across teams and product lines, ensuring alignment with company goals and metrics.
- Work with the product teams to create and maintain a unified roadmap that connects customer needs, business outcomes, and engineering priorities.
- Ensure the product organization operates as a cohesive system aligned to company goals, customer needs, and market opportunity.
- Partner with the CPO, executive team, and product leadership to define and drive SafelyYou's multi-year product strategy and portfolio vision.
Operational Excellence
- Design and implement scalable frameworks for product planning, prioritization, and performance measurement.
- Build predictable, transparent product delivery processes that balance innovation with execution discipline.
- Create and foster excellent relationships with RnD and continue to grow a "one team" functional and cultural relationship between our Product, RnD and Operations teams.
- Lead our teams in helping to translate tech concepts into clear product direction, help guide Product/RnD planning, have an understanding of our stack and know when to push for new features vs optimizations
- Partner with Finance, Operations, and GTM leadership to connect product decisions directly to business growth and profitability.
Organizational Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of senior product leaders, empowering them to deliver high-impact outcomes through clarity, accountability, and collaboration.
- Foster strong alignment between Product, Research and Development, Design, and Go-to-Market functions.
- Champion a high-performance, data-driven culture that values outcomes over output and empowers teams to innovate responsibly.
Scaling the Business
- Guide the product organization through SafelyYou's next growth stage and beyond.
- Drive cross-functional readiness for new market launches, product extensions, and platform evolution.
- Partner with the executive team on investor narratives, customer-facing strategy, and market differentiation.
The Ideal Candidate:
- 10+ years of product leadership experience, with 5+ years leading multiple product domains or organizations.
- Proven success scaling a product function in later stage (Series C and beyond) tech companies.
- Strong operational and strategic acumen — equally comfortable building systems and shaping vision.
- Player-coach who is just as comfortable delegating and leading as rolling up their sleeves.
- Deep experience leading both technical and business-oriented product teams in SaaS, healthcare, or AI technology.
- Track record of creating alignment across complex organizations and influencing at the executive and board level.
- A keen eye, appreciation and passion for design.
- Mission driven with deep empathy both for our team and the customers we serve.
