AltaGas - Regulatory Advisor

AltaGas is seeking a Regulatory Advisor to ensure our Midstream operations meet all federal, provincial, and local regulations. In this role, you'll be a trusted advisor, guiding teams through permitting, compliance, and regulatory strategy for our facilities and pipelines.

You will:

  • Lead permitting, regulatory, and compliance activities across AltaGas Midstream operations.

  • Prepare and submit accurate regulatory filings and reports to agencies on time.

  • Support technical teams during audits and inspections, including response preparation.

  • Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts to stakeholders.

  • Interpret and apply oil and gas regulations in Canada and the U.S.

  • Build strong relationships with regulators and internal teams to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

  • Develop regulatory strategies to advance Midstream projects.

  • Identify and mitigate regulatory risks for operations and projects.

You have:

  • Post-secondary education in engineering, environmental science, business, or related field.

  • 5+ years of regulatory experience in Alberta and British Columbia.

  • Strong knowledge of provincial and federal regulatory processes for midstream oil and gas.

  • Proficiency with regulatory reporting systems (OneStop, ETS, eSubmissions, KERMIT, AMS, IRIS, etc.).

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • High integrity, discretion, and sound judgment aligned with AltaGas' core values.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and related software.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and teamwork skills.
