Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant or VOA to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary clinic. This role requires a passion for animal care and the ability to handle various administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Wages will be discussed during interview based on previous experience.

Duties

  • Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.
  • Provide information on services, procedures, and pet care to clients.
  • Assist in managing phone calls, emails, and inquiries regarding appointments or pet health.
  • Process payments and handle billing inquiries with accuracy.
  • Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure smooth operations within the clinic.
  • Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed.
  • Support the veterinary team with medication administration and basic animal care tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology is essential.
  • Experience with animal handling, including dog handling and restraint techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing records and schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and staff.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
