About the jobIn this role, you will:
- Promote, market and deliver a wide variety of government funding programs, and provide economic, community development and capacity building services to local organizations, including First Nations communities
- Work with stakeholders to deliver community and economic development initiatives, including workshops, training and information sessions
- Provide consultative advice, information and resources to local communities
- Provide analyses and recommendations to management on local issues and concerns
- Lead projects, and conduct research and analysis to support the ministry's business planning and decision making processes
Mandatory requirements
- You have a valid class G Ontario driver's license or equivalent as recognized by the province of Ontario
- You have knowledge of government grant programs, as well, program design, development, implementation and evaluation techniques for community and economic development programs
- You have knowledge of organizational capacity, community, and economic development, the tourism industry as well as cultural and social development programs and consultation practices
- You have knowledge of the structure and dynamics of geographic, social and economic communities, and the operations of not for profit and for profit organizations
- You have knowledge of financial analysis and accounting principles
- You can provide information on grant programs; assess, recommend and evaluate financial assistance of government grant applications within audit and accountability standards
- You have knowledge of project management methodology to coordinate and lead projects.
- You can develop and deliver presentation and training materials, including the design and production of resource materials, workbooks, manuals and handouts
- You can provide consultative advice to stakeholders within both private and public sectors
- You can establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- You have knowledge of training techniques and principles to develop and deliver a range of workshops, training and information sessions
