JOB SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will be tasked with providing the highest level of service to our client's, their Dealers, and Advisors. It will be important to have an understanding of Mutual Funds, transfer agency & trust accounting operations and the related services delivered each day, while also contributing to the success of the team by willingly assisting others in the performance and completion of assigned duties. As a team player the successful candidate will be providing knowledge and guidance to other team members and internal support groups on issues that pertain to own area of expertise.
WORKING PROCEDURES:
- Has knowledge of the investment fund industry including an understanding across various products and investment strategies.
- Has a strong accounting background
- Has an understanding of registered products including RESPs, RRSPs, LIRAs, etc.
- Is able to provide financial and non-financial administrative support to the Fund Managers, their Dealer's support team, and Financial Advisors via telephone and email correspondence, including account set up & updates, subscriptions, redemptions, distributions and bank trust account reconciliations
- Able to assist on set up of new funds, new unit holder accounts, and perform necessary testing relating to client on-boarding
- Will be reviewing, investigating, and resolving trade issues
- Will work effectively and efficiently with the team to ensure compliance with internal company controls, policies & procedures, PIPEDA and the AML/AT Act
- Will analyze RESP account notional balances to determine the available capital, grant and income components
- Ability to reconcile government files relating to CESG payments
- Will be actively involved in special projects
- Will perform other related duties as may be assigned according to the needs and requirements of the department, the company, and its clients
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent accounting and/or transfer agency experience
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office product suite, esp. Excel
- Experience in the financial services industry, esp. mutual funds
- Overtime may be required to meet client and department deliverables and systems testing

- Strong team player
- Able to work with minimal supervision in a time sensitive, precision-based demanding environment, quickly adjusting to multiple demands, tasks and shifting priorities
- Self-motivated while able to take instructions

- Previous work experience within a credit union, bank, trust or mutual fund environment
- Knowledge of the regulatory environment including CRS, FATCA, PIPEDA, AML/AT
- System knowledge of LTI Unitrax
- Unitholder tax filing knowledge
- Knowledge of FundServ files and FundServ testing standards
- Completion of IFIC or CSC
- Bilingual (French/English)
