Summary

Reporting to the Manager, the Research Assistant II will work within a team dedicated to immunoassays such as MSD, Olink, Ella, ELIspot and ELISA for the measurement of biomarkers in biological matrices for clinical studies.

Responsibilities

More specifically, you will participate in the following:

  • Perform methods autonomously as per approved procedures and applicable GLP regulations and GCLP guidelines.
  • Perform validation assays and analyses.
  • Participate in revision of Method SOP.
  • Manage reagent orders and inventory required to perform assays.
  • Preform equipment maintenance and calibration.
  • Participate in troubleshooting, event investigations and CAPA.
  • Respect the laboratory's current standards, apply quality system procedures and participate in the implementation and improvement of quality documents.

Education

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, immunology or equivalent.

Main Requirements

  • 3 years of laboratory experience in similar position.
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in ligand binding assay (e.g. ELISA) is an asset.
  • Solid theoretical and practical knowledge of immunology-related techniques.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changes in assignments.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent record-keeping, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Experience in manipulation of infectious material in containment level 2 (CL2) environment.
  • Experience working in a GLP/GCLP environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle high number of samples.
  • Motivated to participate in the implementation and continuous improvement of the laboratory processes.
  • Leadership potential in training and mentoring junior staff.
  • Knowledge of written English and oral comprehension of French is an asset.

Working Conditions

  • 100% onsite.
  • The role is predominantly conducted in a laboratory setting.
  • Must accept to perform activities in a Biosafety Level (BSL) 1 or 2 laboratory where biological samples may be either naturally or experimentally infected with potentially hazardous viruses such as HIV, HCV, or CMV.
