Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position for a
Site Supervisor
based in
Trenton, Ontario
. The Site Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily construction activities, coordinating and managing trades and subcontractors, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.

The role involves maintaining schedules, managing on-site resources, resolving day-to-day issues, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and DCC (Defence Construction Canada) requirements where applicable. The Site Supervisor will also be responsible for daily progress reporting, quality assurance, and maintaining strong communication with project managers, consultants, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities.
  • Supervise and direct contractors, trades, and site personnel to ensure work is completed on time and within scope.
  • Enforce compliance with safety policies, building codes, and quality standards.
  • Conduct site inspections and maintain detailed daily site reports.
  • Communicate regularly with project management to track progress and address issues.
  • Manage site logistics, deliveries, and material handling to optimize workflow.
  • Identify and resolve construction challenges proactively.
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting as required by DCC and internal protocols.

Qualifications

  • Proven
    track record as a Site Supervisor
    or similar supervisory role in construction.
  • Experience working on DCC (Defence Construction Canada) projects
    is a strong asset.
  • Experience in
    cladding, exterior retrofit, envelope restoration, or similar construction scopes
    preferred.
  • Strong understanding of
    construction safety regulations
    ,
    building codes
    , and
    industry standards
    .
  • Proficient in
    construction planning, scheduling, and resource coordination
    .
  • Skilled in
    reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical documents
    .
  • Excellent
    leadership, communication, and problem-solving
    abilities.
  • Ability to
    work effectively in a fast-paced, active construction environment
    .
  • Diploma or degree in
    Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
    preferred.
  • Valid
    driver's license
    and ability to
    commute to project sites
    required.
  • Experience in
    residential, commercial, or institutional construction
    considered an asset.
  • Valid certification in
    Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
    and
    Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness in 5 Steps (Ontario Ministry of Labour)
    programs is a strong asset.
