We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our team. This role involves transporting freight efficiently and safely across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, heavy equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance. A background in automotive repair and forklift operation is a plus, demonstrating versatility and technical proficiency. This position offers an opportunity to work with a dedicated team committed to safety, professionalism, and excellence in logistics.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport freight to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and compliance with company policies
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when required to ensure vehicle readiness
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
- Assist with warehouse duties including freight handling and inventory management when not on the road
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL license
- Familiarity with forklift operation and freight handling procedures
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and basic automotive repair skills
- Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or related fields is preferred
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various environments
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards related to trucking and freight transportation
