Job Description:

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP Business Objects (BO) Administrator to manage, optimize, and support the Business Objects reporting platform across multiple Banking applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with BO administration, system upgrades, performance tuning, user/security management, and ensuring the stability of reporting environments. Experience delivering projects using Agile methodologies is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, install, and configure SAP Business Objects BI platform including:
• CMC (Central Management Console)
• BI Launchpad
• Web Intelligence (WebI)
• Universe Design Tool (UDT/IDT)
• Crystal Reports (optional)
• Manage BO servers, services, and clusters including load balancing, failover configuration, and system tuning.
• Perform upgrades, patching, repository migration, environment refreshes, and performance optimization.
• Monitor platform health, conduct root-cause analysis, and resolve incidents across BO reporting environments.
• Manage security, user provisioning, access rights, and folder-level/report-level permissions according to Bank policies.
• Work closely with report developers to troubleshoot report performance issues, universe errors, and connectivity problems.
• Support semantic layer management—including Universe development assistance, connections, data sources, and query optimization.
• Oversee scheduled reporting, job failures, and event-based triggers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Agile squads and support sprint delivery cycles.
• Create and maintain platform documentation, operational procedures, runbooks, and audit reports.
• Ensure compliance with Banking standards including data governance, security, and regulatory guidelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience as a BO Administrator.
• Strong understanding of SAP BO architecture, security, clustering, and high availability.
• Expertise in managing BO servers, WebI, IDT/UDT, BI Launchpad, and CMC configuration.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux and shell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
• Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Teradata) and SQL for debugging and connectivity.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies – experience working in Scrum/Kanban teams.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience working in Banking or Financial Services environments is highly preferred.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with SAP BO on Cloud, S/4HANA, or BW integration.
• Knowledge of Lumira, Data Services, or BO Explorer.
• Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps pipelines, and automation tools.

• Exposure to reporting governance frameworks and dashboarding tools.

• Base Salary: 130K – 135K CAD
