Our Client

Our client, is an active owner and operator of middle-market infrastructure assets. Through the execution of disciplined investment strategies and an active management approach, they target infrastructure projects with highly attractive risk-return characteristics, long lives, and the potential to generate stable cash flows. Our client manages several billion dollars in AUM on behalf of a wide range of high-net-worth and institutional investors such as pensions, endowments and foundations, indigenous trusts, insurance companies and corporations, among others. Their diversified portfolio represents more than 100 individual infrastructure facilities, including roads, rail, hospitals, airports, solar, hydro and wind generation facilities, among others.

Manager, Investor Relations & Business Development ("Manager")
to join their
Investment
Team located in Toronto. Reporting to the Managing Director, Investor Relations & Business Development, the Manager will work as a member of a collaborative and performance-driven team. You will work in a multi-functional team environment and have primary responsibility for managing existing and prospective relationships to deliver exemplary client service and reporting through a combination of interpersonal and analytical skills, time-management abilities, and market knowledge. This includes aspects of fund operations, oversight of quarterly reporting, and client communications through a variety of channels. This position will execute investor relations strategies for the firm's institutional clients and will assist with marketing and capital raising efforts alongside business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain and reinforce positive client and consultant relationships through professional communication
  • Develop and maintain proactive communication and relationship strategies, including scheduling formal and informal meetings and events
  • Support and continually refine existing client service plans and all aspects of client account administration
  • Prepare and support fund operations and reporting, including capital calls, distributions and quarterly reports
  • Lead the creation, review, and dissemination of key communication materials for existing clients (e.g. transaction and business updates, quarterly reporting, investor presentations, etc.) and primary marketing materials critical to raising new capital from prospective investors (e.g. sales presentations, fact sheets, RFPs, etc.), including the creation of original content
  • Collaborate with internal teams to track and respond to inquiries from existing and prospective clients
  • Work closely with the investment, asset management and finance teams on new investments, quarterly valuations, responsible investment and a variety of other initiatives
  • Develop into and function as a product specialist with knowledge of the infrastructure industry and the ability to articulate the firm's investment strategies and core competencies internally and externally
  • Participate in and support the Managing Director with ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives that drive business growth (e.g., marketing, product development, capital raising efforts, responsible investment projects, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    You have a minimum of three years related or transferable work experience, ideally within the investment management, financial services, or consulting industries. Experience in institutional client service, business development and/or fundraising is considered an asset
  • Education:
    You have an undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field. CFA and/or CPA designations are an asset
  • Industry Knowledge:
    Understanding of and experience in alternative asset classes and the infrastructure investment industry is desirable but not a prerequisite
  • Technical Skills:
    You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Experience with other relevant systems (e.g. DealCloud or Salesforce) is an asset
  • Collaborative Communication & Teamwork:
    You are a team player with a positive attitude. You can build relationships and interact with professionals at a variety of levels, internally and externally. You communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
  • Analytical & Strategic Mindset:
    You have a drive for efficiency along with the desire to organize, automate and problem solve. You are accountable, proactive, curious, a continuous learner, and can work autonomously in a constantly changing environment. You possess an analytical mind with demonstrated quantitative skills
  • Self-Starter:
    You are a motivated self-starter with a high level of attention to detail and proactive approach to work. You have good judgement coupled with the ability to set clear expectations and make sound decisions
  • Time Management:
    You can manage and prioritize multiple ongoing projects and daily responsibilities. You can work efficiently under pressure, both individually and as part of a team. You effectively deal with changes and interruptions while maintaining deadlines
  • Additional Considerations:
    You are open to occasional travel
