Overview

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Wine Shop Manager to oversee the customer experience side of our tasting room. The assistant wine shop manager/guest service manager, will manage wine shop staff, scheduling and run of the day. They will coordinate, create and lead the guest service experience. They will ensure customer service and experience are memorable for guests, tours and everyone who visits our winery. This is a working position where you will oversee but also complete tastings, welcome guests, and take part in the day to day operations. Other daily duties will include answering emails, working with tour operators and coordinating with food service manager and event manager.

Our winery is open Wednesday- Sunday this position is those 5 days a week

We are looking for someone one who prides themself in customer service, has strong sales skills and someone who loves wine and has a minimum of WSET2 or equivalent. Someone who likes to work with a team and can inspire and uplift the day to day. Fantastic organization, the ability to multitask and problem solve are at the top of the list of skills we are looking for. Off the Grid Organic Winery is a small family business, you will work closely with the owner and general manager, all our staff is like family and we enjoy working together, we are looking for someone who fits with our winery culture.

Bilingual abilities and prior supervisory experience are highly valued to enhance team performance and customer engagement.

This is a seasonal job, starting this year April 2026, and ending December 20th 2026, for the right person we are willing to look at this as a full-year job

Duties

  • Lead and supervise daily store operations, ensuring smooth customer flow and high standards of customer service
  • Manage staff, assist with training, and development to build a motivated and efficient team
  • Assist with POS programing, and day to day needs
  • Develop and implement sales strategies with tasting room staff
  • Attend weekly management meetings to set sales goals, monitoring performance, and motivating staff
  • Manage wine shop schedule
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and store procedures
  • Foster a positive shopping environment through excellent phone etiquette, communication skills, and organizational oversight

Requirements

  • Proven experience in wine shops, store management, or supervisory roles within a wine selling environment
  • WSET 2 or equivalent wine education
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively
  • Excellent communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Previous experience with supervising staff in a retail setting is highly desirable
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal

Contract length: 9 months

Pay: $38,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
