COMPANY: SALT MEDIA
REPORTING TO: DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
DOTTED LINE: GENERAL MANAGER, MEDIA
LEVEL: SENIOR MANAGER

COMPANY OVERVIEW
Salt XC is an agency driven by the philosophy of Experiential Commerce. Our unique framework for designing better consumer experiences that earn attention and drive action. We take an integrated approach that connects your consumer's online and offline experiences through data, media, and the memorable moments that drive brand transactions.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Salt Media is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst – Media to serve as a critical financial partner to our media teams and clients. This role is responsible for end-to-end financial stewardship of media investment, ensuring accuracy, control, and transparency across invoicing, forecasting, budget tracking, and reconciliations.

This is a hands-on senior role for someone who has operated within a mid-to-large media agency environment, understands the realities of managing complex media spend at scale, and can confidently interface with platforms, publishers, internal teams, and client financial systems.

The ideal candidate brings rigor, ownership, and clarity to media finance operations while partnering closely with Media and Finance leadership to support growth, accountability, and operational excellence.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Media Invoicing & Financial Operations

  • Own and manage the end-to-end media invoicing process across platforms, publishers, and third-party partners, ensuring invoices are received on time, accurately reflect contracted spend, and align to media delivery.
  • Review, validate, and process invoices to ensure correct coding by project, campaign, client, and corporate entity, resolving discrepancies proactively.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for media finance-related inquiries with vendors, platforms, and internal stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain invoicing controls, timelines, and documentation standards to support audit readiness and scalability.

Budget Control, Forecasting & Reporting

  • Partner with Media teams to build, maintain, and continuously update budget control reporting, providing clear visibility into planned vs. actual vs. forecasted spend.
  • Develop and manage weekly and monthly budget reconciliation processes, identifying variances, risks, and required adjustments.
  • Ensure forecasts accurately reflect media delivery, pacing, and known commitments, and are kept current throughout the month.
  • Produce clear, actionable financial reporting for Finance and Media leadership, highlighting spend status, issues, and recommendations.

Client Systems & Purchase Order Management

  • Work directly within client financial and media planning systems (e.g., Guideline planning at Kraft Heinz) to:
    • Update media spend forecasts
    • Request, track, and manage purchase orders
    • Ensure alignment between client approvals, internal budgets, and vendor invoices
  • Serve as a trusted financial liaison between Salt Media and client finance/procurement teams, ensuring compliance with client-specific processes and timelines.

Reconciliation, Compliance & Accuracy

  • Lead weekly and monthly reconciliations across media spend, invoices, and forecasts, ensuring financial accuracy and completeness.
  • Proactively identify missing invoices, late submissions, or misaligned charges and drive resolution with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial policies, client requirements, and contractual terms.
  • Support audits, internal reviews, and client financial inquiries as needed.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Leadership

  • Partner closely with Media teams to embed strong financial discipline into day-to-day planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance to refine processes, reporting structures, and controls as the business scales.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the EVP of Media, providing financial insight and support aligned to media delivery and client outcomes.
  • Act as a senior, steady presence within the organization—bringing clarity, accountability, and problem-solving to complex financial situations.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7–10+ years of experience in media finance, accounting, or commercial finance within a mid-to-large media agency environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing $100MM+ in annual media spend across multiple clients, platforms, and publishers.
  • Deep understanding of media invoicing workflows, budget controls, forecasting, and reconciliations.
  • Hands-on experience working within client media planning and financial systems (e.g., Guideline or similar tools).
  • Strong command of financial accuracy, controls, and operational rigor in fast-moving environments.
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills; comfort working with large, complex data sets.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with senior stakeholders, vendors, and clients.
